Mark earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and began his career at the international law firm of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliff, where he joined the firm’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. Shortly after joining Orrick, Mark was selected for a prestigious judicial clerkship with the Honorable Morrison C. England at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. After clerking, Mark returned to private practice at Orrick, where his clients included top Fortune 500 companies, Silicon Valley unicorns, and quasi-public entities—including Meta Platforms, Inc., Getaround, Inc., Westlands Water District, the California Earthquake Authority, and the California Conservation & Liquidation Office on behalf of the California Insurance Commissioner. Mark’s time at Orrick gave him valuable experience in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, deposition preparation, and trial planning, as well as keen insights into avoiding unnecessary business disputes and regulatory action.
Mark is a proven leader who has demonstrated the ability to manage complex situations with grace and unwavering dedication. His diverse background and experience make him an asset to any organization. In his current role as COO and General Counsel for MyOutDesk, Mark is responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and legal matters. He has deep experience in managing teams, developing strategies, and executing plans to achieve organizational goals. Mark is dedicated to helping his clients achieve their goals while maintaining a commitment to excellence and integrity. Outside the office, Mark is married to his high school sweetheart, Julie, and they have four children together.
In addition to his legal career, Mark served in the military as both an enlisted Soldier and combat arms officer. Mark was a 17-year-old Army trainee when the attacks of 9/11 occurred, setting the tone for his 20-plus years of service. After quickly climbing the enlisted ranks, Mark’s commander sent him to Officer Candidate School, where he earned the Erickson Trophy as the top Honor Graduate of his commissioning class. Mark’s military career gave him opportunities to take part in overseas contingency operations, to include the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan, where he earned two Bronze Stars for his wartime service. After having served in extensive operational roles in both domestic and overseas settings, Mark retired from military service in 2021.
